A curious-minded individual might pose the following questions to an avid tennis player from the Atlanta area to help better understand their passion for the sport. First question, “Why travel over 60 miles through the worst gridlock traffic ever in Atlanta during rush hour, for a tennis match?” The simple and surprising answer given was, “For the Love of Tennis”. A second question one might ask, “Why would someone put on three layers of clothing to endure the near-freezing temperature expected on match day?” The avid tennis player answered without hesitation, “For the Love of Tennis”. Then again, why would someone agree to compete in a match on a hot, dry August day when the temperature can reach over 90 degrees. The tennis enthusiast proudly replies, “For the Love of Tennis”. Final question, Why on earth would a tennis player refrain from ending a match early after sustaining a sport-related injury?” The devoted tennis player definitively responds, “All for the love of Tennis”. I’m confident that other avid tennis players would agree and can easily recall overcoming countless obstacles for time well spent on and around the tennis courts. Tennis becomes a relationship.
